Open innovation frameworks and tools have long been used across industries to tackle unstructured problems. In today’s uncertain socio-economic and political landscape, their importance has only grown for businesses. Approaches such as Design Thinking, Customer Journey Mapping, and Futures Thinking offer valuable insights and solutions across various domains. While large corporations have leveraged these processes effectively, SMEs have often struggled with adoption due to their perceived complexity. However, the rise of AI-powered tools has lowered these barriers, making open innovation frameworks more accessible to SMEs.
By incorporating cutting edge AI tools, this seminar aims to equip Cypriot SMEs with a practical understanding of Design Thinking, Customer Journey Mapping, and Futures Thinking and the process of their deployment. By the end of the session, participants will be able to develop faster, more effective solutions to the unstructured challenges their businesses face.

Upon completing the seminar and its associated activities, participants will be able to:

• Understand Open Innovation Frameworks [Institutional part]
Provide an overview of open innovation frameworks such as Design Thinking, Customer Journey Mapping
and Futures Thinking in the context of SME workflows.
• Understand AI Basics
• Provide an overview of AI concepts, technologies and tools, and their relevance to the SMEs.
• Explore Practical Applications
• Identify specific use cases where AI can enhance stages of multiple open innovation frameworks.
• Develop Skills in AI Tools
• Offer hands-on training with popular generative AI tools and platforms, enabling the participants
to integrate these technologies into their practice.
• Address Ethical and Legal Considerations
• Discuss the ethical implications of using AI powered innovation tools in business processes,
including issues of confidentiality, bias, and accountability.

The ideal candidates for this seminar are forward-thinking entrepreneurs and management
professionals from small and micro enterprises in Cyprus who are eager to embrace technology in
their work. They possess a foundational understanding of their business and are open to exploring innovative solutions that enhance efficiency and client service. These participants may be seeking
to find solutions to unstructured problems such as opportunity discovery, risk mitigation and
process optimization to improve their business practices and management skills through the use
of AI tools. They are motivated to navigate the ethical implications of AI in law and are keen to
collaborate with peers to share insights and best practices in their profession.
