Postdoctoral Researcher (IDEK Coordinator) in Social & Economic Studies and Project Strategy
Required Background
A Ph.D. completed within the last 5 years in Sociology, Economics, Political Science, Public Policy, or Science, Technology, and Society (STS) Studies.
Core Expertise
Candidates must demonstrate strength in the following areas:
- Policy Analysis & Impact Evaluation: Expertise in qualitative and quantitative research methods to perform rigorous policy analysis, socio-economic impact assessment, and beneficiary feedback studies.
- EU Funding Strategy: Deep understanding of EU/Cypriot funding mechanisms (specifically RIF), including the ability to research future calls and strategically align project outputs with funding priorities.
- Dissemination & Exploitation: Proven ability to coordinate communication, public relations, and stakeholder engagement activities, ensuring project results reach both academic and non-academic audiences.
- Project Management: Excellent skills in project reporting, administrative documentation, and ensuring full compliance with RIF requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Project Coordination & Compliance: Serve as the official project coordinator, overseeing the administrative and reporting phases and ensuring strict compliance with all RIF/IDEK contractual requirements.
- Impact and Policy Alignment: Design, implement, and lead the social/economic impact assessment, providing policy recommendations based on project outcomes and societal relevance.
- Proposal Development: Actively research, identify, and write specialized text (e.g., Dissemination, Exploitation, Impact, and Policy sections) for future EU and national funding proposals.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Manage communication, public relations, and stakeholder activities to maximize project visibility and uptake.
Essential Skills
- Demonstrated experience in contributing to successful research proposals (EU or national funding is mandatory).
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, especially in synthesizing complex project results for diverse audiences.
- Proficiency in data analysis software (e.g., SPSS, R, qualitative tools, or similar platforms used for economic/social modeling).
- High level of organizational skill and attention to detail required for project coordination.
