This full-time, highly technical role serves as the official project coordinator for a critical component, leading the actual development, integration, and secure maintenance of the digital platform at the core of the project. The researcher must possess advanced coding skills and experience in managing the complete software development lifecycle, ensuring a scalable and secure system.

equired Background 

  • PhD Requirement: Must hold a PhD awarded within the last 5 years in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a highly relevant field focusing on Distributed Systems, Web Technologies, or Cybersecurity. Extensions are considered for relevant leaves. 
  • Mandatory Status: Must be a Cypriot national and willing to be residing in Cyprus during the contract period. 
  • Project Leadership: Must be prepared to serve as the official coordinator of the funded IDEK project. 

Core Expertise 

Candidates must demonstrate deep proficiency across the full development stack: 

  • Full-Stack Development: Expertise in both front-end (UI/UX implementation) and back-end development, including advanced data modeling and database management (SQL/NoSQL). 
  • Cloud Infrastructure & Scalability: Proven experience managing and deploying applications on cloud infrastructure (e.g., Firebase, AWS, Azure) and designing highly available, scalable systems. 
  • System Security: Strong understanding and application of cybersecurity principles in platform development, authentication, and data protection. 
  • Development Lifecycle Management: Proficiency in modern development practices, including version control (Git), continuous integration/deployment (CI/CD), and agile methodologies. 

Key Responsibilities 

  • Project Coordination & Compliance: Serve as the official project coordinator, overseeing technical milestones, administrative reporting, and ensuring strict compliance with all RIF/IDEK contractual requirements. 
  • Platform Architecture & Development: Lead the design, coding, testing, and secure deployment of the project’s core EdTech platform, ensuring seamless integration of all components and APIs. 
  • Code Quality & Maintenance: Establish and enforce best practices for code documentation, unit testing, and stability, ensuring the platform is robust and scalable for long-term use. 
  • Interdisciplinary Collaboration: Work closely with the Pedagogical Design Specialist to accurately translate functional requirements into high-performing technical solutions. 

Essential Skills 

  • Demonstrated proficiency in a modern full-stack framework (e.g., React/Node.js, Angular/Python, or similar proven technology stacks). 
  • Experience in API integration and developing RESTful or GraphQL services. 
  • Exceptional ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues, rapidly adapt to new technologies, and optimize system performance.
