Required Background
PhD Requirement: Must hold a PhD awarded within the last 5 years in Computer Science, Data Science, Electrical Engineering, or a highly relevant quantitative field specializing in AI/ML. Extensions are considered for relevant leaves.
Mandatory Status: Must be a Cypriot national and willing to be residing in Cyprus during the contract period.
Project Leadership: Must be prepared to serve as the official coordinator of the funded IDEK project.
Core Expertise
Candidates must demonstrate deep theoretical knowledge and practical application in the following areas:
Intelligent Systems Development: Proven ability to design, implement, and deploy robust, scalable AI and Machine Learning models (e.g., deep learning, reinforcement learning, natural language processing).
Advanced Data Analysis: Expertise in applying sophisticated statistical methods and predictive modeling techniques to complex, real-world datasets.
Algorithm Design: Strong foundational skills in the design and optimization of high-performance algorithms for large-scale data processing.
Scalable Solutions: Experience in leveraging cloud computing resources and distributed systems to build AI solutions that can handle significant user loads and data volumes.
Key Responsibilities
Project Coordination & Compliance: Serve as the official project coordinator, overseeing the technical and research milestones, administrative reporting, and ensuring strict compliance with all RIF/IDEK contractual requirements.
AI Strategy and Development: Lead the complete lifecycle of AI projects, from research and conceptualization through to production deployment.
Research & Publication: Actively contribute to high-impact scientific publications and reports detailing new algorithmic designs and project outcomes.
Interdisciplinary Integration: Collaborate effectively with the Full-Stack Development team to integrate intelligent systems seamlessly into the digital platform.
Essential Skills
Demonstrated proficiency in core ML frameworks (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch, Scikit-learn) and relevant programming languages (e.g., Python, R).
Proven experience in deploying machine learning models in a cloud environment (e.g., AWS SageMaker, Google AI Platform, Azure ML).
Strong portfolio of high-quality research publications or industry projects demonstrating successful application of advanced AI techniques.
