- Cambridge Primary Computing (0059) with 𝐅𝐔𝐍𝐞𝐜𝐨𝐥𝐞®
The New Computing curriculum helps students understand how computers work and comprehend the purpose of different components. Students will develop coding skills in visual programming languages, such as Scratch.
The Computing curriculum is divided into five strands:
- Computational Thinking
- Προγραμματισμός
- Managing Data
- Networks and Digital Communication
- Computer Systems
The Cambridge Primary Computing curriculum is delivered through our 𝐅𝐔𝐍𝐞𝐜𝐨𝐥𝐞® platform, which provides a rich learning environment supported by 𝐅𝐔𝐍𝐞𝐜𝐨𝐥𝐞®‘s ready-made materials. 𝐅𝐔𝐍𝐞𝐜𝐨𝐥𝐞® platform features a variety of activities like programming animations, robotics, coding, machine learning, artificial intelligence, quizzes, and games, all designed to reinforce critical computing skills at each stage. Additionally, support materials like modifiable Scratch code examples, offer opportunities for exploration and deeper understanding.
- Cambridge Primary Digital Literacy (0072) with 𝐅𝐔𝐍𝐞𝐜𝐨𝐥𝐞®
Digital literacy is an essential skill for learners of all ages, including the youngest primary students. With digital literacy skills, students will be able to effectively use technology from the very beginning of their educational journey.
𝐅𝐔𝐍𝐞𝐜𝐨𝐥𝐞® equips primary school students (ages 5-12) with robust digital literacy skills through engaging lessons.
Students will learn to:
- Use the basic computer skills: Introduce students to using computers and devices to create simple documents and presentations.
- Use popular computer applications such as document creation, spreadsheet manipulation, presentation, creating and managing databases, animation, and video development.
- Use Internet and online safety features such as safe online practices, including responsible behavior, cyberbullying awareness, and understanding digital footprints.
- Understand Digital citizenship: Emphasize responsible online communication and collaboration, alongside respecting intellectual property.
- Embark on creativity and problem-solving: using technology for creative expression (drawing, music, stories) and problem-solving.
- Cambridge Primary Global Perspectives (0838) with 𝐅𝐔𝐍𝐞𝐜𝐨𝐥𝐞®
The program develops the skills of research, analysis, evaluation, reflection, collaboration, and communication. It strengthens the links between English as a first or second language, mathematics, science and ICT Starters.
Making Cambridge Global Perspectives available to younger students will develop and embed cross-curricular skills at an earlier age, supporting them in their studies as they progress to and beyond. With the 𝐅𝐔𝐍𝐞𝐜𝐨𝐥𝐞® supporting materials, children can explore various topics and issues like “growing up” by considering their own experiences, their local community, and how they connect to similar experiences in different parts of the world. Through activities like discussions, presentations, and peer interactions, they learn to communicate, analyze, and critically think about different viewpoints and contexts, fostering a broader understanding of the world around them. This approach aims to equip them with valuable skills applicable across various subjects they encounter throughout their education.
- Cambridge Primary Art & Design (0067) with 𝐅𝐔𝐍𝐞𝐜𝐨𝐥𝐞®
Students develop creativity skills that will help with many aspects of their future learning and development.
They will:
- learn to see themselves as artists and become increasingly reflective and independent
- develop the skills needed to express creative ideas and to communicate visually
- understand their place and the place of others in a creative, innovative and interconnected world.
Cambridge Primary Art & Design is taught through a broad range of investigative, art-making, and reflective activities on the 𝐅𝐔𝐍𝐞𝐜𝐨𝐥𝐞® platform. These include a number of study areas, for example, painting, printmaking, model making, or digital art.
- Languages
The FUNecole® Language curriculum empowers students to communicate, collaborate and share their ideas confidently and effectively. Students learn how to act creatively and critically when they have to analyze a situation and while they are ready to design multiple solutions to solve a problem. Specifically, they learn how to communicate and collaborate critical skills needed to respond to a range of information, media and texts. Acquiring language skills with the FUNecole® tools and resources promotes active learning, develops thinking skills and encourages intellectual engagement.
