Digipro Computer Consultants team was invited to Brussels to attend and participate Microsoft’s workshop at the Microsoft Executive Briefing Centre.
Education and political leaders in countries around the world have recognized the imperative to prepare their youth for the 21st century, a goal that many believe requires the fundamental transformation of educational opportunities together with the integration of technology into teaching and learning.
One of driving forces behind 1:1 computing in education worldwide, the Anytime Anywhere Learning Foundation has now partnered with Microsoft to develop a 2 day Design & Deployment workshop.
WorkShop Format
This was a 2 day workshop giving a broad introduction to the critical steps required for school leaders/regional leaders for effective execution of 1:1 computing as well as the expectations about what this will mean for students, teachers and the whole school community. The workshop addressed both strategic and tactical implications for School Heads, IT Directors, Curriculum Heads and their teams. The workshop was a unique opportunity to gain knowledge and understanding of the process from educational vision setting to actual device purchase.
Workshop Agenda:
Over the two days the workshop covered the content within the Five Phases for the Design and Deployment of an effective 1:1 initiative through the 21Steps to 21st Century Learning program:
- The Compelling Case for Change
- Redesign Learning and Teaching
- Leading the Shift
- Manage Implementation
- Evaluate Continuously
Phase 1 sets the overall framework for the initiative and lays out the ideas to which everyone in the system will align their work. All subsequent phases build on the previous phase, moving from a systems view – the broad “helicopter” view – down to the detail level.
