We proudly congratulate our students, Zinonas Gianni and Periklis Sophokleous, on their outstanding achievements in Cambridge International GCE AS and A Level Computing exams.

Zinonas Gianni was awarded the Highest mark in Cyprus for the A Level Computing examinations in June 2012 while Periklis Sophokleous was awarded the Highest mark in Cyprus for the AS Level Computing examination in June 2012.

This achievement demonstrates the high quality of both the learners’ and their school’s work and reflects their enormous talent, hard work, commitment and dedication. A remarkable fact about their achievement is that they both competed in the age of 16 where the major part of candidates for this qualification ranges from ages 17 to 19.

As Zinonas quotes, a major factor for his success was his early involvement in ICT skills, through the FUNecole® programme, that enabled him to build a solid ICT background and led a high achieving path to IGCSE and later on A Level qualifications of computing subjects. Both Zinonas and Periklis highlighted the importance of the proper and professional guidance of Digipro’s training team.

This is a back-to-back achievement for Digipro’s computing training team managing to secure a two-year in a row highest mark in Cyprus for the AS level Computing exams since Zinona’s last year’s highest mark in Cyprus for the AS level Computing exams in June 2011. This came without surprise to Digipro as the percentage of A and above grades, in June 2012, among their students was sky-high at 77% while the global percentage stands around 15%-16%.

The prizes were presented at the Outstanding Cambridge Learner Awards Ceremony that was held in Nicosia in 1st March 2013. A group of high achievers in various Cambridge subjects were congratulated by H.E Matthew Kidd, British High Commissioner in Cyprus and Dr John Guy, Senior Education Advisor, University of Cambridge International Examinations.
